Esa Nummi discusses the Thermo Scientific XL5 Analyzer, which implements cutting edge XRF hardware to achieve a lower limit of detection (LOD) and faster measurement time than its predecessors. The XL5 is ideal for manufacturers, recyclers and PMI inspectors to verify the composition and grade of metal alloys, as well as the composition of scale, sludge, oil, powders and slurries. Its ergonomic and lightweight (2.8 lbs, 1.3 kg) design cuts user fatigue and allows for analysis in tight spaces. The XL5 can also be precisely positioned for capturing entire sample images with a micro and macro camera, for improved record keeping and quality assurance.
